Lasting Memories-Inspired by a TV Show

This week at Lasting Memories we are looking for layouts inspired by a TV Show.  Scott as a toddler loved preschool and loved to watch Mickey Mouse cartoons. His idea of a great start to the day was to watch Mickey, put on his Mickey Mouse clothes and to go off to preschool!  This picture was  with one of his teachers:)

Alphabet: American Craft Thickers Boardwalk (used to make the boarder around the page)
Disney Stickers: EK Success and Sandylion
Cardstock and Paper: VERY OLD Paper-like over a decade (as I roll my eyes over my hoarding tendencies)

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is to share a Childhood Memory. It can be of your own childhood, your children's childhood or even your college years!

Childhood Memories....hmmm isn't it fun when we can watch our children enjoying the same activities we enjoyed as children? Bumper Boats are loved by my kids as much as I loved them as a kid.  I did it once or twice because my parents couldn't afford to pay for three kids to ride them, but I loved them when I had the opportunity!

So I chose to do a layout of the boys playing bumper boats while also sharing my personal childhood memory!

Journal I loved bumper cars and boats as a kid. Watching the boys ride them is also fun!

I used scattered hexagons to continue the theme of bumper boats around the water.

Supplies:

Scrapbook Kit: Studio Calico Neverland March 2013
Teal Velvet Paper: Stash
Notebook paper: Stash
Die: Spellbinders Hexagons

Challenges:
Stuck On U Sketches; Diecut challenge Are you Seaworthy? I used hexagon dies to represent the bumper boats in the water

Don't forget to leave a comment to be in the drawing.

Looking forward to seeing your Childhood Memories:)

Digitally Sweet Challenge-Photo Inspiration

Ohhhh...Check out the photo inspiration this week for Digitally Sweet Challenges....doesn't it just make your mouth water?

Forget the challenge I just want to go play in the candy store! LOL

So here's my take on the photo inspiration. I used My Memories Suite 4 Roy G Biv

We ran across this telephone booth in Gatlinburg, TN. You should have seen the look on the boys' faces! LOL They were clueless as to what it was. They couldn't believe there was a cord on the telephone and the fact that it couldn't text! LOL My children are clueless!

Challenges:

Child's Play Challenges: Matchbox Cars (I used the colors)

Have a week filled with enjoying old fashioned things!

Lasting Memories-Old Fashioned Photos

Happy Easter! Enjoy your time with your families!

I have a confession to make. My kids think I am "old fashioned". And they love the 70's, which were my teen years. They think the 70's were "old school." Excuse me, but that was just yesterday! LOL

So when the challenge at Lasting Memories this week called for old fashioned pictures I figured a picture from when I was in first grade (1967) was fair game.

Supplies:

Scrapbooks and Cards Today Spring Kit :I really love this kit good value and variety

Paper:  Pebbles Take Note and Family Ties, Crate Paper On Trend, Bazzill Borders

Butterfly Heart Embellishments: I made these from scraps and Distress Stains and Markers

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings Use Discount Code Spring10 for 10% off your entire order:)

Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories

Wood Veneer Embellishments: Studio Calico and Scrapbook and Cards Today Spring Kit

Wire Bird: Scrapbook and Cards Today Spring Kit

Flowers: Stash

Tip: This photo is the ONLY picture I have being in the classroom as a student. So I used Scrapbook Adhesives Photo Corners, so that the photo could be removed if necessary.

Digitally Sweet Challenges-Once Upon a Tome

Welcome back to another fantastic challenge at Digitally Sweet. This week the theme is "Once upon a Time," Choose a fairy tale or legend to ton inspire your layout.

I had fun with this one. Our cat Dustbunny thinks she is a princess. So a layout about her was a given. We are forever interpreting her "looks" with language so I did something I have never done before on a layout added a speech bubble!

This was done with My Memories Suite 4 and the kits Princess and the Frog and Butterfly Days

Challenges:
Aud Sentiment Challenge: For a Child, what child doesn't love fairy tales?
Digitally Sweet-Once Upon a Time

Wishing you a week filled with Fairy Tale Moments!

Lastimg Memories CAS

Guess what!! We've decided that we'd like to add some new talent and creativity to Lasting Memories, so we're running a DT Call this week!! What a perfect week to do it because our challenge is "Clean and Simple" aka "CAS". So, if you're interested in trying out for our DT, please add DT with your name when you link up (KarenDT). We're looking for 5 new faces to join our team so good luck to everyone!!!

It's time for another awesome challenge at Lasting Memories Challenges. This week we are looking for your clean and simple layouts.
This week I did a two page layout.

Supplies:
Washi Tape: Stash (I need to figure out a way of marking it with manufacturer and name.)
Copic:Multiliner .08
Cardstock: DCVW The Bella Amoire Stack, Bazzill Licorice Twist Card Shoppe
Alphabet Stickers: American Craft Thickers Honey Puffy Letters
Dies: Spellbinders Label 1 Scalloped)

Tip: I used Washi Tape to make the diagonals. It makes it easier to correct if it gets crooked. I also found it is better to take the ends around the back and tape down with scrapbooking tape. It keeps it from coming up over time.

We saw these bears at The Three Bears Country General Store in Pigeon Forge, TN.  I know who would ever have thought????? And what really amazed us is that it was like listening to howling dogs when the fight broke out. (It was mating season.) And they really do stand up on two feet to show dominance.

Eventually the fight did stop when the staff brought out extra food. Just like humans solve the world's problems with what else-food. It does calm the nerves of the savage beast! LOL

Here's a quick video of the Bears

Anyway this was my favorite store in Pigeon Forge. The selection and variety of merchandise was unbelievable from the tacky tourist souvenirs to collectables.  Not to mention the fact an opportunity to see bears up close-HOWEVER these are Asian bears they are not the local black bear.

Looking forward to seeing your CAS layouts!
