Percy-Christmas Pet Layout

I discovered a new challenge blog this week and was pleasantly surprised to discover it was owned by one of my Lasting Memories DT sisters, Darcy. What  I really loved about this blog was the fact they have a double layout sketch that uses lots of pictures. When you have years of pictures that need scrapped that is a major plus!

I am working on a dog memory album as a Christmas present for James. You may remember that Percy died of a brain tumor. So I am hoping to have it completely done for this coming Christmas. It's June so just maybe?????

I used Webster's Pages Retired Waiting for Santa for this layout.I am on a no buying paper until I have made a significant dent in the current supply path. So far it is working:)

Tips to make the "Percy" ornaments:
I cut out the letter ornaments from Webster's Page's Waiting for Santa paper using a 1.75" circle punch. I then used scrapbooking tape to attach a safety pin to the back of the ornament to that the bottom end was exposed at the top of the ornament.

I then used some scrap gold cord  to hang the ornaments from the top of the page. I placed foam tape under the ornaments to give them dimension.

Challenges:
Stick it Down: Sketch Challenge

A Gem of a Challenge: Use felt or Fabric (ribbon or Lace do not count) I used cream and red velvet pleats.
Completely Christmas: Anything Goes
Crafting at the Weekend: Anything Goes
Hiding In My Craft Room: Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge Blog: H is for Handmade Embellishments(I made the alphabet ornaments)

Have a great week!

Lasting Memories Challenge-Christmas in July

We wish you a Merry Christmas, We Wish you a Merry Christmas....... When I worked at Cedar Point Amusement Part back in the 80's  one of the activities the park planned for the employees was Christmas in July. We decorated our dorms and apartments with Christmas decorations-no small feat in the middle of Summer Vacation Land on Lake Erie, LOL. But boy did we have fun! We also exchanged Christmas White Elephant presents. You can just imagine the gifts that would show up between college students. I received Ohio State Buckeye Toilet paper because I was attending University of Michigan, LOL.

Well this week at Lasting Memories you get to celebrate Christmas in July with us! We want to see your Christmas Layouts. Get them done now before another Christmas season is upon us!

Mine is of James at last Christmas. Notice that his dog Percy thinks that he should be helping!  And James is just thrilled to be getting a bed comforter for his college apartment, LOL. Oh the joys of spontaneous photo taking!

I challenged myself on this one to take some girly Webster's Pages paper and make a masculine layout. I love their stuff, but rarely can I use it with two boys.)  I used chipboard pieces from my stash to cover up the girly flowers.  I also fussy cut a house out of another sheet and then used stickles on it. I used pieces of foam tape up front and glue dots in the back to make the house appear to be coming out of the paper.

Supplies:
Cardstock and Paper" Webster's Pages
Die Cuts: Echo Park, Webster's Pages:
Snowflake button: Webster's pages
Adhesive: EK Success Foam tape. ATG
Glitter: Stickles Frosted Lace

Challenges:

Hiding in My Craft Room: Christmas in July

Shopping Our Stash: I don't really need another one or..TRUE CONFESSIONS FROM THE TEAM!!  Mine is the paper,  especially Webster's Pages. I keep buying it because I love it, but it's tough to use because I have boys! So it keeps piling up.
Use it Tuesday: What was I thinking? Again back to buying Webster Page's Paper when I have boys!!!!

Merry Christmas in July!
