Lasting Memories Challenge #115-Stamp Those Layouts
Missed me?? I was lost in Technology World, trying to convince Comcast that to wait more than a week for service was unreasonable. (The joys of being in an area that only has one service provider. No competition means poor customer service.) But the tech person shared a secret I am going to share with you. Apparently the router and modem will sometimes get out of sync causing a disruption in service-and why they could not have told me this over the phone is beyond me. So the trick is to turn off both the router and modem. Wait 30 secs and turn on the modem, let the lights come back on. (The wireless will not come on at this point.) Then plug the router in. Within a minute or so your Internet should come back. So I am back!!!
This week the challenge at Lasting Memories is to Stamp on your layout. I had planned to do this elaborate stamped layout, but life got in the way. But I just got Kristen Werner's new On Edge Stamp Set and Small Folder Banners Die Set and I was aching to trying them out. So I used them to put the finishing touches on this layout.
The actual layout is not on a diagonal. Not sure what happened here. Sorry:(
Supplies:
Cardstock and Paper: Bella Blvd Birthday Girl
Die: Simon Says Stamp Small Folded Banners Holiday Kit
Stamp: Simon Says Stamp On the Edge
Ink: Hero Arts Neon Pink
Adhesives: Glue Glider Pro, Micro Glue Dots
Ribbon: May Arts
Stickers: Bella Blvd Birthday Girl
Looking forward to seeing your stamping creations! Be sure to check out A2Z Scrapbooking Supplies-there's a ton of sales going on over there. And there are some awesome Christmas stamping supplies!
And Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American Friends!

Digitally Sweet Challenge 3-Use a Sketch
Hard to believe another a week has passed by. And I have "discovered" another digital software Craft Artist 2 Professional And honestly either I am getting the hang of digital scrapbooking or this software is easier to use. The kits are a little more "pricey" but the ease of use makes up for it.
So here is my layout using Craft Artist 2 Professional and the Daisy Trails digi kits Good Times and Happy Birthday. I am still working on my friend's Christmas present. I promise I will soon be working on her grandson's pictures too:)
Just a friendly reminder Digitally Sweet is strictly a digital challenge. That means no traditional paper is involved. No digital hybrids are allowed and hybrids will be disqualified as far as Top 3 or for prizes.
Be sure to drop by the Digitally Sweet Challenge Blog to check out our top 3 winners this week!
Be sure to stop by on Sunday for the next Lasting Memories Challenge and hopefully on Saturday I will have some things ready from the Online classes I am currently taking. One of them has a strong organizational component to it so I have been busy reorganizing my desk and tools:) Hope to share more soon. Wish I would have remembered to take some before shots:(
This week the Digitally Sweet Challenge is a sketch designed by our own Ali:) Isn't it an awesome sketch? I may have to borrow it sometime for a traditional scrapbook page too:)

Lasting Memories Challenge # 77- "Let's Celebrate"
This week at Lasting Memories our theme is Let’s Celebrate!”- We want to see a special celebration layout – birthday, anniversary, milestone, graduation…possibilities are endless!
One of my crafting goals this year is to get my scrapping done that tells my story. So this week as part of the celebration I decided to do a layout of my 6th birthday party. I don't really remember this party, although I do remember the house. We lived behind both sets of my grandparents until I was in first grade. And I would love to pop in to see them. I had my Grandpa O convinced that my mother was not feeding me. In reality Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup tasted better at their house, because I always got a bottle of Coke to go with it! I never got pop at home, LOL.

Female Birthday Card
My best friend's birthday is Sept. 11. And she went into premature labor that day resulting in her son being born on the 13th. So needless to say her birthday always has a "gloom" over it. So I really wanted a card that was pretty and upbeat for her birthday.
I was so excited when I saw the border on Echo Park's Country Drive. Part of the boarder said "Let's get together" and the other "Happy Birthday." This was perfect to use with my best friend, because we have a tradition of taking each other out to dinner or lunch on our birthday's instead of doing presents.
Tip: I use a paintbrush and a light coating of corn starch to take the stickiness off from the lace where the glue is exposed.
Supplies:
Paper and Cardstock: Echo Park Country Drive, Pink Polka Dot Scrap, Core'dinations
Flowers and leaves: Prima Marketing, stash
Ink: Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Ribbon: Offray Classical Lace, Michael's Dashes, Dots & Checks (SKU 387853)
Embellishments: Kaisercraft Pearls
Die: Quick Kutz Scalloped Border
Adhesives: Scotch Pink ATG, Therm-o-web Sticky Lines, Mini Glue Dots, Scotch Foam Tape
Challenge: PageMaps

Girl Birthday Cake Card
Have you ever had one of those days where you wonder if there is a brain in your child? I had one of those days today. Between trying to get me to believe that "Clean the bathroom," does not include the toilet and giving me 30 minutes notice that he needs a birthday card for a party I think I could have cheerfully locked myself in the bathroom and taken a bath for hours! However, only because I know what a wonderful friend the girl has been to Scott, I put on my creative thinking cap for a fast card.
Scott is so lucky that Scrapbook Steals had a Girls Paperie Set at an awesome price and that it arrived a couple of weeks ago. With having boys my female papers are pretty limited. If you haven't signed up for Scrapbook Steals go get on their email list now. They have 2 daily specials one at 9 am and another at 9 pm MST. I've bought stuff that was as much as 75% off! And it has arrived quickly and well packed. Shipping is also very reasonable.
So onto the project at hand. Here's the 30 minutes to design and create card:
Supplies:
Cardstock: Core'dinations So Mod Pretty - in -Pinks (I cut a 5x7 card using the pinking blade for my Kaisercraft Trimmer, White Cake is DCWV White Glitter Cardstock
Paper: The Girls Paperie Newsprint Stripe (Oh how I love this paper!) I cut this with a straight blade 4.5 x 6.5. The pink iridescent paper I bought years ago at Michael's on clearance (cake trim), Gold Glitter paper scrap, Light Blue paper scrap
Die: Sizzix Birthday Cake #2 (Currently on sale for $2.99 (retail $14.99) at the Sizzix Outlet )PS: Check out the new Sizzix Blog.
Embellishments: Blue ribbon (Michael's), Creative Charms Butterfly, Petaloo Flora Doodles
Be sure to mark July 25th on your calendar. We will be having a Christmas in July Bog Hop! And I have blog candy for it:)
Well I have a layout that demands to be finished for tomorrow, so I'd better get back to my real agenda.
Wishing all of you a quiet evening with no last minute needs being sprung on you! LOL
