Visions of Paper

I have a confession to make. I am a paper addict. I am one of those people who can pick up a piece of scrapbooking paper and just marvel at the color combinations and styles. I probably don't have a single photo to work with it, but I think I have to have the paper because it is just too pretty to put down. And to compound the problem even more I am drawn to the Victorian papers and the girly paper. And God decided in his vast sense of humor to give me two SONS! So here I am addicted to frilly lace, glitter, and girly paper and my photos are of boys! There are days I think God sits up there just laughing at me. So I am thrilled when someone asks me to design a card or scrapbook page for a girl. And every now and then I ignore the fact that I have 20 years worth of my boys photos that need to be done and do some of mine from when I was a child.

I chose Visions of Paper as the title of this blog for a couple of reasons. The first being is that I really do enjoy just sitting amongst my paper collection and working with possible combinations. The other reason comes from the line in the Night Before Christmas... ":with visions of sugar plums dancing in their head" That's how it is with me when I get the urge to create, I have visions of paper dancing in my head. I know weird huh?

So now I am on a mission. I am getting started now on Christmas presents. And it is only February! This is an all time record for me. I usually procrastinate and  I am panicking in November. And I am going public to help hold myself accountable.

But there is even more in store for me. My youngest son is leaving for college in the fall. I've decided to conquer the empty nest issues (not a total empty nest, I have an adult son living at home whom is attending a local tech college) by figuring out a way to change his bedroom into a scrapbooking studio but still preserving some space for him when he comes home for visits. So through the upcoming months I will be preparing for a graduation party, changing his bedroom into my studio, and also discovering the artist in me who has been bursting to escape from within.

Enough for now. I have an urge to go create. See you soon!
