Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hop

Welcome Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hoppers!

For those of you not familar, Operation Write Home's mission is to support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. I am thrilled to be one of the many volunteers that make cards for such a worthy cause. Many members of my family have served in the armed forces and I am well aware how important the cards are to the families.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our Heroes. The sacrifices you make each and every day are appreciated by my family. We pray for you every day. Please be safe and we look forward to your safe return home!

Today is the official day of the hop! Whew! You made it here! What a wonderful and inspiring journey! We have some wonderful and talented artists in our midst! The next link is at the bottom of this entry.

Be sure to leave a comment so that you are entered for my blog candy:)  There's more info about the candy on the sidebar:)

I had a ton of fun designing this card using Peachy Keen's Painting Easter Bunny Stamp. I am a huge fan of Peachy Keen and the customer service is just awesome!

I colored the bunny using copic markers RV23, BV23, E35, BV20, YG06,Y06, V91.

Supplies used: Doodblebug Baby Girl Striped Paper, Scrap of Lilac paper, Copic Cardstock, Hero Arts Grass Folded Card, Kaisercraft White Pearls and Yellow Pearls, Hooby Lobby Pink Ric Rack, Cuttlebug Swirls Embossing Folder

I so badly wanted to use glitter and glitz the card up. However, in making cards for the military it is a safety issue for them. It is very important to NEVER use glitter on a card for Operation Write Home. But if you are making this card for someone else, I think this card would be darling with a glittered egg:)

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the blog candy contest. And again thank you to the men, women and families who are sacrificing to protect us:)

Have fun hopping! The next link is Jacquelyn

A grateful American,
 Elizabeth

  33. Adorable! Love your bunny on the egg and I like how you made it really pop with the pearls around the edging. I'm not a huge fan of glitter (little OCD on my part) so OWH was easy for me to adjust too. I like to use a lot of shimmer and metallic papers to help glitz and glam my OWH cards. =)

  63. Adorable card, I know what you mean about the glitter I felt the same way. I asked Kate at OWH about it and she said it's okay as long as it doesn't rub off so when I use stickles I cover them in glossy accents to encapsulate them. No rubbing off :) Thanks for the chance to win such fabulous candy!
