The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is “All You Need Is Love…”- Use the word LOVE on your layout but does NOT have to be Valentine theme (certainly can be if you like though!)
Our awesome blog candy this week is from Michele. Please stop by her blog and wish her a HAPPY Birthday!!!
With the challenge this week I also decided to use Lasting Memories Sketch of the Week.
Thanks to Pagemaps !
This weeks layout is of the boys' cousin and her new hubby. What says "LOVE" more than a wedding?
Not sure what tricks the camera wants to play today, but that top row of pearls and ribbon is straight on the layout. If anyone has a suggestion of what settings on my camera I need to change, I would love to hear them. And the flash was off, so I am not sure why the metallic gold paper matting behind the photo picked up my image slightly- I don't see it when I look at. Must be camera gremlins...sigh
Supplies:
Paper and Cardstock: Scraps,Scrappin Sports & More Nephew/Niece, Laura Ashley Purple Vines, K & Company Blue Roses, Purple Gingham, K and Company Lilacs, Walmart Gold Metallic Paper
Embellishments: Joanne's Purple Bridal Bouquet, Zva Creative Pearl Swirls, Hobby Lobby Wedding Ribbon
Cricut Cartridges: George and Basic Shapes (hearts) and Cursive 101 (love-welded in Cricut Cart Room)
Tip: Sewing on paper can be tricky. I found when trying to sew through the 2 layered hearts the paper was having a hard time moving through the sewing machine. I ended up first gluing the hearts in place with my Glue Glider Pro and then having to help guide the paper. If you use an adhesive be sure to wipe down the needle, foot, and anything else that may have gotten glue on it with a baby wipe and some Un-Du. Otherwise it will gum up your machine and you will have much bigger problems.
Tip on making the dimensional hearts: I glued the bottom one down with repositionable glue. I did the same with the one on top. I then sewed the line through the center. I took the sides of the top heart and removed the respositionable tape. I then folded the sides of the top heart up.

ReplyDeleteHello I'm doing the Scrapbook throwdown and just checking out your work. This is a Fabulous layout using stitching. Love how you stitched through the heart....Great site just joined.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Elizabeth!! I absolutely love those hearts. I don't see your image at all? The photo looks great!! One thing I do is try to find a really bright space and take my photo there. Sometimes I lay my photo on the floor right in front of the door so you get the natural light. That will help. Another option I've done if I can't get it just right is to take pic with flash on, but have it bounce off the space just around so you can crop it out. In the warmer weather, I LOVE taking my creations outside to do the photo's.
ReplyDeleteLoving the purple and the hearts...a really elegant page!
