I live more than 300 miles away from my family. So it has been over 30 years since I have celebrated Mother's Day with my Mom. And my boys decided that since we were driving back from Gatlinburg, TN this past Mother's Day there was no sense doing anything special. So this challenge was a bit more difficult for me.
So I thought instead I would scrap my Mom's favorite photo from when I was young. After my father drowned when I was just 4 weeks old, we moved in with my maternal grandparents until my mother re-married. Mom is sitting on Grandma's swing. I loved that swing growing up after we moved. Since it was the days before houses were air-conditioned I often would sleep on it during a hot summer night. And Grandma always had a stock of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hershey Syrup and bottles of Coke., that she would bring out to the porch. And we could have as much as we wanted. And even better she kept a cupboard full of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup just waiting for me to tell her and Grandpa that Mom did not feed me! LOL And my Grandfather really thought she wasn't. LOL It was just simply Chicken Noodle soup tasted better at her house!!!!
