Lasting Memories-Opposites Attract

Welcome Back! It was great seeing all of your Leather and Lace this week! What a talented group of scrappers! And wasn't Claire's give away just scrumptious?

This week at Lasting Memories we are celebrating the fact that Opposites Attract! Maybe you want to use opposite colors on the color wheel. Or maybe animals such as a cat and dog. Or perhaps your children are the complete opposite.  My theme is actually carried out in the photo. Scott took this beautiful photo at Wolf Park in Battleground, Indiana. The fact that he caught the wolf as it was jumping over the water and got's it's reflection to boot, blows me away. So my Opposite is actually a reflection!

Tip: The Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go Paper was too white. It made the layout feel stark. So I decided that since the photo was of a pond, why not muddy up the paper? I used Vintage Photo Distress ink to do that. And I purposely pushed harder on some areas to give the random "muddy" feel.

I also found that since the cardstock was basically solid it needed more texture. So I distressed the edges and used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to provide continuity with the background paper I inked.. The jute twine also completed the dry twis and plants in the photo.

This is another layout where I used my stash:) I am on a mission! LOL

And on another note:

I am thrilled to be participating in Big Picture Classes May Flaum's Camp Scrap. I love this class because it focuses on SCRAPBOOKING. And it is a month long, so if life gets in the way, I still have time to play catch up. And it started with a bang. One of her suggestions regarding organizing kits was a duh moment. It was so simple, I was like "how in the world did I not think of that!" But it has already made life so much easier. It is also REASONABLY priced and not too late to sign up!

Challenges:
GrandDiva's Creative Corner: Sketch

C.R.A.F.T Challenge: Anything but a card
Bloggers Challenge: Masculine cards or projects (James took the photo and the layout is for him)

Looking forward to seeing your OPPOSITES!
