Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop - Any Hero Card

Welcome to Operation Write Home's Memorial Day Blog Hop! How exciting it is to see all of the red, white and blue handmade cards! Doesn't it just make you want to get your stuff out and start creating?

I personally would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the families and our Heroes   My father served in the Korean War. We had family at the Pentagon on 9-11. The owner of a2z Scrapbooking is a military kid. We understand the importance of your sacrifice. And we remember the lost.......

My card is based on OWH Sketch 217

See Supply list at the bottom of this post.

I made an Any Hero card for this hop. Our hero's unfortunately think we have forgotten them due to the war effort winding down. It's important for them to know we have not forgotten them.

I know it can be tough to figure out what to write in an Any Hero card so I thought I would share what I have written to help spring some ideas for you in writing any Hero cards...

Dear Hero,
Thank you for serving our country.Your sacrifice is remembered every day in our family. We had family at the Pentagon on 9-11, so we know how important your job is on a personal level.

The flowers are starting to bloom  here in Indiana after a very long winter & it is wonderful seeing green again.

We are going to the Farmer's Market this weekend. It will be nice to be out in the sunshine.

I have two boys. One is a senior at Purdue and the other just finished getting his welding certification. He started his first job making rebar for cement foundations. The son at Purdue plans to start his own business offering translation services to companies.

Please know you are thought of daily and are in our prayers.

With admiring respect,

Elizabeth, James, and Scott

Imagine if everyone on this hop wrote just 2 ANY HERO Cards what a difference it would make to our troops! a2z will be sponsoring an Any Heroes Card drive next month on the a2z blog.Be sure to stop by there on June 5th for more details! And we have a very special surprise guest designer coming on June 7th!

Be sure to leave a comment to be entered for $25 gift certificate to a2z Scrapbooking Supplies.

Have fun on the hop!

  15. What a great idea to help people along who don't know what to write. I think it is really great to encourage others to write to our heroes. There are so few fighting for the comfort of so many and I don't think those serving hear from the rest of us enough! Your card is beautiful but it's the words that are so imprtant! Thanks, Rosie
