Friends Layout

Choosing appropriate friends can be difficult for those with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Scott has wanted a girl friend so badly that  in the past he has chosen to date girls that make poor choices and are lower functioning than him. And since his cause and effect is severely damaged from the alcohol, he is EASILY led astray by others. With his disabilities he really needs friends that can help him think through his choices and help challenge him to reach higher. He has found that in Jackie. She has been a wonderful friend who is thrilled to have a boyfriend who shows her respect. In return she has helped him mature and think more before reacting. There is still a long way to go, but she definitely has made a huge difference in his life. It scares me because she is leaving for college in August at the same time James is leaving. So Scott will have too major changes in his life at the same time. And in the past he hasn't handled change well. However, I am hoping that because we have talked about the changes and been preparing for them, that perhaps he has enough skills that this time will go a little smoother.

For this layout I decided to use scraps-so I can't tell you what supplies I used because everything was scraps! I am really motivated not to move more than I have to when we convert James room into a scrapbook studio! LOL

The quotes says: "A Friend is Someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart." A Very appropriate quote under the circumstances:)

Challenges: Creative Scrappers

Challenges are something I just started doing. It has been an awesome tool to get me to break out of my old patterns and habits. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly encourage you to give it a try:)

Have a Scrappy Weekend!

  1. Really cute layout. And I am really happy he found a good friend :) Good friends are hard to find. And I love the sentiment.
