Mother's Day Card

Supplies:
Paper and Cardstock: Lawn Fawn Brightside'
Ribbon: Simon Says April 2012 Card Kit
Die: Spellbinders Classic Heart-I used packaging acetate for the heart
Bling: Hero Arts Gemstones
Tape: Queen & Co Purple Polka Dot Trendy Tape
Flower Punch: Punch Bunch
Mini Glue Dots to attach the flowers to the acetate

The card is based on a card by Kristina Werner in Simon Says April 2012 Card Kit. But I changed it up a bit by making an acetate heart to attach the flowers too. (I used mini Glue dots.) I also did have have enough ribbon to make a bow,so I tied a knot again. I also added Hero Arts Clear Gems to the centers of the flowers.

And the ribbon is straight, not sure why the photo shows it as slanted?????

I made this card for my Mom for Mother's Day, but it certainly could work for other occasions.

Have a wonderful day! It is just beautiful here:)

Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day Card

I am so in love with Echo Park's Playground Collection!  It is so cute. However, some of it is just too girly for the boy's scrapbook pages.  So I decided to play around with it and see if I could come up with a Mother's Day Card that I could donate to the local domestic violence program, which helped me when I left my abuser.  Often when the women leave their homes, they leave everything behind. So I often make cards throughout the year for the staff to use to brighten the day of a victim or for the victim's family to use. This card will be for the kids to give to their Moms.  I also donate cards to Operation Write Home which supplies our armed forces with special handmade cards.

Inside Poem

"Happy Mother's Day" means more than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things we seldom say.
It means We LOVE YOU,
Then Thanks for all you do.
But most of all, we wish to say,
That we are wishing you happiness on this your special day!

Supplies: Echo Park Playround Collection, yellow felt for 2 layered flower (I cut out the flower free hand)  pink button with white floss in a cross to match the paper, orange ribbon (Sewn on with blue thread), Prima leaves, Glue Arts Extreme Tac Squares to apply felt and button, Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro High Tac to apply the ribbon, Kaisercraft Wavy Blade Trimmer for bottom of the card (cut front of card 1/8" shorter than back of card.

This card is simple and quick to make, which I love when I need to make several cards for a donation.

Have a wonderful day!
