Lasting Memories Challenge #72 Time for a Recipe Layout

This week the challenge at Lasting Memories is to do a layout with a recipe! Cooking seems to be a "male gene" in my family. My Great Uncle Stan Norton was famous for his gourmet treats when we came to visit his home in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Oh how I loved his corn fritters! Then afterwards we would go to his store Norton's Flower Shop to see his latest orchids (He was world renown for his orchid expertise, including having one named after him.) and we would have free run of the store and could choose any Christmas Tree ornament we wanted. 40 years later my Christmas tree is full of ornaments from those wonderful trips.

The "male cooking gene" was then passed to the next generation to my cousin Mark. Currently he runs his own catering business, but at one time he was a top Chef at Disney World. And now James has the "cooking gene."

James favorite toy as a preschooler was his "kitchen." He was forever making pretend meals for me. And it wasn't long before he was "helping" in the kitchen. Now I so look forward to his coming home from college because he takes over the kitchen.

One of James favorite things to make in kindergarten was "Reindeer Chow." Here's the recipe:

Reindeer Chow
9 cups Rice Chex
 1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1. Put cereal in a large bowl.
2. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and
Margarine uncovered on High 1 minute; stir.
3. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth.
4. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
5.  Pour into 2-gallon re-sealable food-storage plastic bag.
6 .Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated.
7.  Spread on waxed paper to cool.
Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Here's my layout:
