Lasting Memories Challenge Snow

" It's beginning to look like Christmas, everywhere I go!" I so LOVE this time of the year. And I don't even mind the snow up until the day after Christmas, LOL. And this week Lasting Memories is looking for snow layouts:)

And last year I somehow manage to actually get a picture of a mishap while it was happening. Don't ask me how it was just a lucky break, LOL.

Scott was riding his snow board down the hill when it went out from under him. Notice it in the air? And when they both came down it landed on his head. And they were both fine, it's why I can laugh about it now:)

This layout was done with my stash (and some of it is VERY OLD). The only thing I know for sure is that I used Frosted Lace Stickles.

Operation Write Home/World Card Making Day Blog Hop

Before we get to my card I just want to thank all of the men, women, and their children who are giving so much for the sake of our country. We had family at the Pentagon on 9/11 and we are well aware what a gift you are giving to our country. Every time I see someone in uniform I make sure my children and I go up to them and say thank you in person. It would be wonderful if we all would take the time to thank each of them. Can you imagine what it would do for morale?

The challenge at Operation Write Home that was given to  us was to use a sketch with a winter theme. So I have turned this sketch on it's side for my card:)

Here's my take on the sketch after turning it sideways:

Message: In the meadow we will build a snowman.....

Dashing Through the Snow Card

I tried a new technique today I learned from Simply Cards Magazine Issue 90-doing paper piecing with diamond shaped pieces. Hmm..took a little time to get the pieces to match up exactly and then attached with foam tape. Not as easy as it looks. But here is my first attempt..

Snowflake Card

With so many cards to get done and trying to keep shipping costs down, I have been focusing on keeping things simple and using up scraps as much as possible. So here's the latest CAS version:
